I’m Nerick Ojas, and for 20 years I’ve protected vehicles across Hilo, and Keaau against the one thing that wears them down out here, the weather.
808 Shine started because I got tired of seeing good vehicles get worn down by things that were preventable. Twenty years in, I still do this the same way I started, careful prep, honest recommendations, and a finish that holds up to island weather instead of just looking good for a week. Most of my customers found me through Instagram or through someone who already brought their truck in, and that’s on purpose. I’d rather earn the next job than chase it.

A full detail covers both the inside and outside of your vehicle, washing, decontamination, and paint care outside, along with vacuuming, interior cleaning, and conditioning inside.
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer applied to your vehicle's paint that bonds to the surface and creates a hard, glossy, hydrophobic layer. It helps paint resist water spots, UV fading, and everyday grime for years instead of weeks.
A coating only protects what is underneath it. If swirls, contamination, or old wax are still in the paint when a coating goes on, they get sealed in instead of fixed. That is why we inspect the paint first and tell you straight if it needs enhancement before we coat it.
A coated vehicle still needs regular washing, just less of it, and with pH-neutral soap instead of harsh cleaners. We walk through simple aftercare with every customer so the finish keeps performing.
Yes. Regular detailing catches small issues, swirls, fading trim, interior wear, before they become bigger problems, and ceramic coating adds a long-term layer of protection on top of that.
